Parfumerie Absolue — depuis 1897

The formula has never left the family.

Five generations of the same house, compounding in the same courtyard workshop, from a ledger of formulas that has never been sold, franchised, or licensed out. Nothing here is synthetic marketing — the concentration on the label is the concentration in the bottle.

Three evaporation rates, not three layers

A real 0–10 hour timeline

A fragrance pyramid is usually taught as a design metaphor. It is actually a physical fact: top, heart and base notes are named for how quickly their raw materials evaporate off skin, a direct function of molecular weight. The chart below is not illustrative — it is positioned on the real timeline every formula in the ledger is built against.

Top notes: Light, volatile molecules — citrus oils, aldehydes, light herbs. Gone within the first two hours on most skin. Heart notes: The body of the scent — florals, spices, stone fruit. Emerges as the top notes clear and carries the composition through the afternoon. Base notes: Heavy, low-volatility molecules — woods, musks, resins, amber. What is left on the skin — or the fabric — the next morning.
